I have a class of 10 to 12 year old students here in New Zealand, about ten kms from Auckland city centre. Intermediate schools in NZ are a two year course before beginning High School. The teachers take one class in which they teach a number of general subjects ranging from general science to physical education. There are some subjects that are taught by specialists. The school has recently purchased a computer for each of the 18 classes which is networked to some fancy equipment. Not all the system is up and running yet but our students are very keen to do whaty can, especially as very few of them own a computer at home.
We are wanting to get in touch with another class anywhere in the world to exchange ideas and interests.

Since I teach them all either science or computers we could have a lot of pen pals. I am new to the internet, but very excited. My students don't get out of the district too much. They are amazed at what is out there via the net. If they can't see the world themselves, I'll bring it to them.
