STEERING COLUMN
This is the sixth month of the year which means that I'm either half-way into my Presidency or half-way out of it.
THANK-YOU ALL MEMBERS
for all you do from attending meetings, attending events, or working as an officer and club champion.
HELLO FELLOW CAR CLUBBERS!!!!
The month of June we will be having two meetings and a adopt-a-highway. Our regular meeting is Thursday evening starting at 7pm at Saturn West on the 13th. Our interaction and mini-event is going to be much different that what we usually have. This is going to be a musical night to remember. No, I won't be singing and Jim and Al won't be beating the drums. The person giving us this musical feature is a bonafide musician. So please come on out and enjoy the night and this free entertainment.
The June meeting also is the final meeting to voice your choice of dates to make our annual pilgrimage to Spring Hill,Tn and the Saturn plant. The details of this event will be published in the July edition of the Monthly Planet.
Saturday the 15th of June your invited to attend the second of four adopt-a-highway event. We will meet at our NEW LOCATION. Please be at the parking lot of Franks Nursery on East Broad(rte 16) by 9am. In case of rain the trek is Sunday starting at 1pm. This event is getting much easier and we are getting it done much faster due to less area to pick-up. Afterwards you are invited to stay and we will go out to a near-by restaurant for lunch and NO COST TO YOU.
Finally, for those that like to attend our Saturday meetings, our third Saturday meeting is at Saturn South-east on the 22nd of June starting at 10am.
You can contact me thru the Hotline which I monitor three to four times a week at :

BIG BUCKS
April Adopt-A-Highway
WOW what a great turn-out we had for our first pick-up of the year. I know some-one will say the President lies but this pick-up is getting EASIER.
This year our first since we started six years ago, we were all on the same side of the road together. Much of the area that we used to pick-up are now gone, due to development.
I'm changing our proceedure for the next time too. We will start where we normally end and work backwards.
We all enjoyed our lunch together and thank-you Saturn of Columbus. June 15th is our next adopt-a-highway event and REMEMBER APRIL is ALWAYS THE WORST.
THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING, including our NEWEST MEMBERS:
GARY COOLIDGE,JEANIE SMITH,LOWELL LUTMAN,CHERYL LUTMAN, LARRY FIERBAUGH and his daughter, PENNY HILL,DARRIN HILL,DWIGHT SHUMWAY, AND MARK RAYMOND.

Dues and Memberships
No-one especially the sitting President likes to talk about DUES. It is however a necessary evil. This club is now in its seventh year and we have kept our dues to the BARE minimum thanks to the great FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF SATURN OF COLUMBUS.
However, like a child leaving home we have asked for less financial support so that we can become more self supporting. We need to cover our own costs which are also going up. This includes dues for Saturn National Car Club, increase costs to cover members in insurance, to cover the rising costs of publishing/mailing the newsletter.
Therefore, we are raising the dues effective immediately to
$18.00 per year per member. Folks this averages out to only $1.50 per month. If you have already paid your dues for this year, then you are okay, no increase until next year. With this new adjustment of fees we also are implementing a NEW PROGRAM FOR OUR MEMBERS. We will be issuing temporary membership cards to members that need it until you receive the one from National. These cards will be good for 180 days. You will be issued these cards when you pay your dues or when you change your membership status from regular to active. This way you get to ENJOY ALL THE BENEFITS WITH-OUT HAVING TO WAIT.
Six points for the year is all you need to earn 15% off on Saturn service. Please remember that we operate a year from July 1 to June 30th.
