Patio Ramblings with the President

Take some time to smell the flowers!

That’s right, the flowers are out and coming. Everything looks so new and bright. Take advantage and join us for our first Picnic of 2001. Our CarClub meeting will be at Highbanks Metro Park this month. Check elsewhere in this newsletter to see what you can contribute for this picnic. If you would like to bring something "special" then call our Hotline and let us know (470-3517).

I will not be able to make this meeting as I will be in Virginia cheering on the Saturn race cars, that will be part of the "One Lap of America" yearly event. For full details of this event, check out: www.onelapofamerica.com.

Anyone wishing to join me, should call me at 470-3517. I will be leaving on Wednesday and returning on Friday. If you wish to get more details or to let Saturn know what you think of this event, go online at: www.saturncars.com and follow the links.

Spring Hill is just around the corner and we need to hear from those of you who plan to make this 6th annual trip. We still are waiting on word about the VUE and hope to have some information by our May meeting or by our June Newsletter. All going to Spring Hill will again receive a "special gift" from our CarClub and our Sponsoring Retailer. More details as soon as we get them. We also have a planned meeting with some folks from Spring Hill similar to last year.

On a serious note, I will like to apologize to all who are having problems with their CarClub membership. WE were not aware of changes that the National had in the works and by our May meeting hope to have the problems resolved. Saturn recently moved to a different location in Michigan and a new National CarClub Team Leader has been announced. Unfortunately, this all happened as we were trying to process memberships and bill accordingly. Continue to send your CarClub fees to us locally. If you want the "plus" membership, it will cost $15.00.

We have many CarClub items for sale. T-shirts, mugs, can holders and sweatshirts are just some of the things we have. Let us know and we will arrange to get the items for you.

Remember, you are not just IN the Club, you ARE the Club!

May 10th Picnic/Meeting

It’s officially Spring and time for picnics. Our next meeting will be a picnic at Highbanks Metro Park. It is located about 2 miles north of Saturn/North, on the west side of Route 23.

We will be having the potluck picnic at the Northern Reservable Shelter. If you have never attended one of our picnics, I would like to extend a special invitation to attend.

The shelter can be open or closed, depending on the weather. It even has a small stove, a fireplace, and a children’s playground.

I will be bringing the meat and buns. We would like to request a free will donation to cover the cost of the meat. Drinks, cups, plates, and utensils will also be furnished by the CarClub.

All those with last names beginning with A-K, please bring a dessert; L-V please bring a salad; S-Z please bring vegatables.

Please call Becky at 614-470-3517, end let me know how many will be$attending. This is important so I know how much meat to make.

I hope to see you and your family at the picnic!

COMMUNITY

Ronald McDonald House

Continue supporting the Ronald McDonald House by dropping your spare change in the jugs at any of the 3 Saturn facilities in Southeast Wisconsin. We're also collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans to benefit Ronald McDonald House.

They will also accept donations of games, books, and videos in good condition for use by the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. On Thursday, March 8, Peggy, Tom, and Dick dropped off several boxes of Golden Books items at the Ronald McDonald House.

That’s all for now.
