Photo Elisha and Julia Adkins

This picture was taken in Elisha and Julia's back yard where they lived in West Hamlin after they had left their farm on One Mile. The house is still there, but, of course, many changes have been made since they have died. The picture is in the back of the house on the left side of the property. The gate goes back into area where Elisha often kept chickens. The little building in the back is an outdoor privy. I can remember being afraid of the roosters when I had to go through the gate to the privy as a child

The family has no record of

1366(15)39 Clarence

1366(15)3(10) Jane Anna

Photo of Adkins home on One Mile

This is a picture of the Adkins Homeplace on One Mile. As of 2000 the house was still standing. I am guessing the property was part of the original Adkins holdings in the area, because Archibald's farm was next to Elisha's farm.

Norman, Lola, Edgar and Dennis are all buried in the Franklin Cemetery in Lincoln County.
