Key responsibilities
Design and develop prototypes/pilot projects to test concepts on all types of platforms;
design, develop and maintain commercial software (mostly on DEC VAX/Alpha Open VMS
platforms). I've worked as the project lead on a variety of technica (integrating EDI into
an automated process) and non-technical (improving the documentation workflow)
assignments. I have extensive experience with all aspects of the Digital Insurance Systems
Corporation (DISCorp or DISC) Healthcare Claims Processing Systems (HCPS). I am one of the
"early pioneers" with the company and still do some contracting work for DISC.

Currently involved with web-site and NT server development and design; developing
Internet server software that generates dynamically-defined web pages based on data stored
on mainframe and mid-size computer systems. We have successfully developed applications
that integrate production mainframe data and Intranet networks with people using Internet
browsers to review and update production data in a secure environment. Check out the demo

- Served in the U.S. Navy in a variety of responsibilities, ranging from every aspect of
computer system operations (data entry, computer operator, job scheduling and shift
supervisor) to programmer/analyst (on a large variety of platforms and languages) for
projects ranging from personnel and payroll needs to working on the team that designed the
supply and repair systems to support the Trident submarine. I've also been assigned as the
division officer for a 27-person data processing shop.

- A variety of programmer/analyst/designer positions. My primary focus for the past 10
years has been designing, developing and supporting commercial software systems for the
healthcare insurance industry.

- Constructing web-based client server application
- Currently designing and developing a system that utilizes web browsers to act as a
front-end client to access and update mainframe medical insurance system information.
Responsiblities include evaluation of security schemes/approaches and recommending
solutions, developing a prototype system to prove the concept, developing marketing
materials and building the production system using Visual BASIC.
- Developing a 3-tier client/server commercial application
- Assigned as the project lead to develop written specifications for Visual C++ programers
to create the code for the business rule server in a 3-tier client/server application.
Includes analysis of existing business system, developing alternatives to service the
business needs, developing all of the test data and loading the data into an ORACLE
database using SQL*Loader.
