The club is now
meeting on the 2nd and 4th Friday mornings at 7:30 am at
the Courtyard Hotel, 5175 Post Road. There is a breakfast buffet for $10.62
with tax this month with $1 going to charity from the hotel and the cost next
month and beyond will be 9.55 including tax. The meeting will begin at 7:30, so come a little early to get your
plate filled, have a seat in the meeting room and eat while the meeting is in
progress. The goal is to have the meeting completed no later that 8:45, we will
strive for 8:30.
February 8, 2008, 7:30 am at the Courtyard by Marriott, 5175 Post Road, just behind Lion Mike Rengert’s office. Our speaker will be Paul Held with the Central Ohio Lions Eye Bank.
Eye Glasses Collection
Lion Mike Rengert reported nearly 100 pair of glasses and
numerous lenses had been turned in recently. The Club has collected over 600
pairs of glasses the 2007-2008 Club year, plus lenses. Please make a visit to the boxes you have placed in various locations
prior to the next meeting and bring those glasses. Let’s keep the
collection effort strong. If you have a
location for a collection box contact, Lion Ron Robbins for a box.
Pancake Breakfast
Planning has begun
for the St Patrick’s Breakfast scheduled for March 15, 2008. Lions John Davis
and Nurys Sabino will serve as co-chairs for the event. Lions Kelly and Ron are
working on raffle prizes, contact them if you have any leads on businesses to
contact for goods or services to donate. Lion Steve is working to complete the
placemats.
White Can Sale
The Club will hold
its spring White Cane Sale from 10:30- 12:30 on Saturday May 3 at the clock
tower intersection on Sawmill Road, the corner of Sawmill and Federated. We
will meet in the parking lot at the southeast corner of the intersection at
10:15.
There are not any drives scheduled for 2008 at this time.
