Our Service Center, located at 4315 E. Main Street, in Whitehall, Ohio was originated by Donald F.Sisk in 1956. It was known as Sisk TV Sales and Service. Sisk TV has always been known for being a reputable and honest TV Sales and Service Center. In 1982 the service portion of the business, (Sisk TV Service) was purchased by Lee Bobbitt and Gary Thompson. Even though we were two separate companies, we worked together as a Sales and Service Center. Don Sisk along with his wife Ruth, maintained the sales department, and Lee and I ran the service. Our goal was to be the best and most efficient Service Center in Columbus. We expanded the service to include Microwave Ovens, Stereo System's, VCR, Camcorder and small business copiers and fax machines. In 1990 due to illness, the partnership of Lee Bobbitt and Gary Thompson was terminated. The Corporate shares held by Leland Bobbitt were purchased by my darling wife, Karen Thompson, and Thompson TV Sales and Service Inc. was born. At this time Karen and I attempted the Sales business, since Don Sisk had retired and closed the Sales portion of the business. We elected to sale the Zenith product, including Television and VCR's. We had a local distributor, so getting product was no problem. I must admit that selling was a lot of fun, however the competition was too tough. We soon found ourselves spending way to much time selling, and not enough time servicing the customer. Therefore we closed the Sales division and dedicated ourselves to service only. March 1, 1993, (In a effort to become more efficient) our Service Center was totally computerized. We installed a Novell 3.12 server, seven work stations, and nine printers. Three workstations are in the service area and four are in customer service and office. Service management software including a customer and parts database, electronic filing of warranty claims, service tips, parts pricing, availability and research, to name just a few. It has been more beneficial to our business than any of us thought possible.
Febuary 1, 1997 We are in the process of changing our company name. Since we have expanded our service to include computers and monitors, and terminated all sales of new product, we feel that Thompson Electronics Service Center is more appropriate. Well it is now official. On this 17 th day of may 1998 our name has officially been changed to Thompson Electronics Service Center, Inc. and is registered with the State of Ohio. Yeah!
