Instructor/Assistant Instructor
Your next step toward a dive career, after becoming a divemaster, is the highly rewarding PADI Assistant Instructor course. In an internship relationship with your PADI Instructor, you'll gain hands-on teaching experience with students (Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Advanced Plus, and Rescue Diver classes). The best internship for up-and-coming instructors.
In the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), you receive the intensive education that gives you the skills, knowledge, and tools necessary for teaching other divers. You practice these in classroom, pool, and open water settings. Instructor candidates attend more than 18 sessions on topics ranging from educational theory to practical conducting of PADI courses and candidates perform no less than 9 teaching presentations in classroom, pool and open water. After completion, you'll be personally evaluated by professionals directly from PADI at an Instructor Examination.
Two-day comprehensive program, conducted by an Instructor Examiner from PADI International evaluates the Instructor candidate's knowledge, watermanship, rescue abilities, teaching, problem solving and professionalism. Success at the IE qualifies you as a PADI Open Water Instructor.
