The Underwater Connection Staff

Bill Margiotta, Owner - Bill earned his scuba certification in 1978 diving off the coasts of New Hampshire and Maine. He completed his advanced training on Long Island, New York and became a divemaster while in college at the University of Miami, Florida. He worked in the Florida Keys as a divemaster and in West Palm Beach and the Bahamas as a first mate and divemaster aboard the Gulfstream Diver charter service. He graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology with a degree in Sport Diving Operations in 1986. One of his favorite places to dive is the Saint Clair River near Port Huron, Michigan
Jane Margiotta - Jane has been diving since she was 17 years old. Her love of the water led her to obtain a degree in Marine Biology from the Ohio State University. She has helped to complete several research projects on Lake Erie and also worked for Sea World of Ohio. Jane has been a PADI Professional since 1993 and has been diving in Australia, Cozumel, Bahamas, and up and down the East Coast. Her favorite local dive is night diving at Portage Quarry. She is also a certified Water Safety Instructor and teaches swimming lessons for all ages as well as aqua-aerobics.
Scott Moore - Growing up on the coast of North Carolina, Scott always had an interest in the ocean. He started diving in 1987 and went on to get a Master's Degree in Nautical Archaeology and Maritime History from East Carolina University in 1992. This allowed him the opportunity to dive on many wrecks in a variety of locations, such as the Great Lakes, numerous rivers, the coast of Bermuda, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic. Since then, he has obtained his Divemaster, Open Water Instructor, and Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating while in Ohio, as well as traveling to Greece and Cyprus every spring to participate in archaeological projects (The Ohio State University Excavations at Isthmia and the Sydney Cyprus Survey Project).
David Knisley - David's first scuba experience was a boat dive off Aruba on December 26, 1991, that began a love affair with the Caribbean that continues to this day. Since becoming a certified diver on July 11, 1993, David's warm water dive destinations include Curacao, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Key West, Key Largo, Cancun, and Marco Island. He received his divemaster rating on July 12, 1996 and has been a PADI instructor since September 14, 1997. Although he returns to the crystal clear waters down south as often as possible, David still insists there's nothing more fun and relaxing than certifying new divers at the local quarry.
Terry Malone -Terry began diving in 1976 after going through the YMCA certification at OSU. In 1988 he went through a PADI Open Water course in preparation for a sailing trip through the Caribbean. He enjoyed the class and his fellow students so much, he continued to help out with classes and was certified as a PADI Instructor in 1992. His favorite dive location is the St. Claire River. Still, to him, nothing can compare to the looks on the faces of new students when they sit down in 3 feet of water and try scuba for the first time.
Scott Schoedinger - Scott completed his open water certification in 1987, as one of Bill Margiotta's first open water students in Columbus, Ohio. Since then, he has progressed through the different levels of certification and is now a Master Scuba Diver Trainer for the Underwater Connection. He worked as an instructor in Grand Cayman and Fort Lauderdale, Florida before he returned to Columbus in 1995 to finish a degree at the Ohio State University.
