Circleville Twin Quarries

Located about 35 mins. South of Columbus (downtown). Circleville has a max depth of about 35 feet and the water temp varies greatly from winter to summer. Summer temps are as high as 83 degrees and it warms up as early as June 1st depending on spring temps. Vis is usually 20 – 30 feet open all year round. There are 2 quarries open to divers. The south quarry has parts of a small plane and a 2 school buses, the north quarry has a bus. The owners have done a great job maintaining this site. Take Rt 23 south to access road just past Citgo truck plaza, look for and follow dive flag signs.

Directions from Columbus:
Take I-71 south of Columbus to I-270 east (follow sign to Route 23). Follow I-270 east and take the first exit, Route 23 south (to Circleville). Follow Route 23 south for about 20 minutes, you will come to the small town of South Bloomfield. Stay on Route 23 south and look for an 84 Lumber on your left (about 5 miles south of South Bloomfield). From the 84 Lumber sign, go exactly 2 miles to Island Road on your right (look for dive flag sign on right). Turn right on Island road and follow to end, turn left and follow signs to quarries (you will cross train track and follow a gravel road to the dive site. Please sign in at the office when you arrive.
